History

The organization was founded in 1995 by a group of initiative oncologists – radiotherapists and medical physicists who at that time were working at the Lithuanian Oncology Center and the Oncology Clinic of Kaunas Medical University. The Society unites about 70 members – radiation oncologists, medical physicists, clinical radiobiologists and radiology technicians. The Society consists of 5 committees each of which has it‘s own scope of activities. The committees are: the Committee of Radiation Therapy, the Committee of Science and Training, the Committee of Brachytherapy, the Committee of Medical Physicists and the Committee of Radiology Technicians.
