Project „Establishment of SRTD thematic network of associations of oncology and related fields and enhancement of their activity.“

The Lithuanian Society of Radiation Therapy as one of the partners is implementing the project „Establishment of SRTD thematic network of associations of oncology and related fields and enhancement of their activity“ (project No. SFMIS No. VP1-3.1-ŠMM-05-K-01-012), according to the medium VP1-3.1-ŠMM-05-K ‚Enhancement of SRTD thematic networks and association‘ of VP1 Human resources development action programme‘s 3 priority ‚Enhancement of researchers‘ skills‘.

Title of the project: „Establishment of SRTD thematic network of associations of oncology and related fields and enhancement of their activity.“

Project duration: 2010-04-01 - 2012-03-31.

The project is implemented by these associations: the Lithuanian Society of Oncology, the Association of Psychosocial Oncology; the Senology Society of Lithuania; the Lithuanian Association of Medical Physicists and Biomedical Engineers; the Lithuanian Society of the Coloproctologists; the Lithuanian Society of Radiation Therapy, The Lithuanian Association of Chest and Heart Surgeons and the Ultrasound Association.

Project budget: 710.302,00 Lt.

Objective of the project:

· Enhance and coordinate local and international cooperation of oncology scientists and scientists and researchers of related fields;

· Develop general skills of members of organizations of oncology scientists and scientists and researchers of related fields.

Tasks of the project:

· Establish an association that unites participants of the project and represents their interests;

· Create, prepare and spread general information for the public;

· Spread the knowledge, experience and competence among the partners of the thematic network of oncology;

· Organize general skills‘ enhancement courses for the members of the thematic network of oncology.
